The Prat-Ar-Coum, Yvon Madec’s family business was founded in 1898 in Lannilis, the land of the Abers fjords in Brittany. For 5 generations, we have been cultivating natural oysters: Magallana gigas (ex Crassostrea gigas) and Ostrea edulis, which we produce from birth at sea, until adult size three years later on our 100 hectare estate. Our production is 500 tons per year. Our oysters grow within a radius of 60 km around Prat-Ar-Coum.
